Transfer Gossip: Arsenal in shock talks to snare Wolves attacker; Tottenham offer part-exchange deal as they look to Ukraine star
Arsenal have a Wolves star at the top of their wanted list and have been in talks with his agent, while Spurs are interested in a Ukraine international and Wolves get custard-pied by a striker, all in Transfer Gossip.
GUNNERS LOOKING TO NET-O PEDRO
Arsenal are working on a deal to bring Pedro Neto to The Emirates, according to a report.
Edu and Mikel Arteta remain keen on at least one more signing before the end of the transfer window despite their fine start to the season.
Leicester kingpin Youri Tielemans was thought to be their priority target. But now it seems as though a more attacking option is their preference.
In fact David Ornstein of The Athletic, says talks with Neto’s agent Jorge Mendes have been going on for over a month. And Neto is Arsenal’s top targer.
The problem is that Wolves do not want to sell the 22-year-old and Arsenal do not have much money left to spend. FFP rules mean Arsenal are struggling to finance a deal for Neto and they will have offload players first.
Pedro Neto new deal
Arsenal though are talking to Mendes over the potential make up of a deal for Neto. Mendes has been a key figure in moulding Wolves into a top-flight team with a heavy Portuguese influence.
Mendes is reported to have offered Neto to Manchester United earlier this summer. And it could well be that Neto is interested in moving on.
But Neto only extended his contract in March, until 2027. And he is firmly part of Bruno Lage’s plans at Molineux.
SPURS TARGET PART-EXCHANGE DEAL
Tottenham are hoping to pinch Ruslan Malinovskyi from under the noses of Marseille, claims a report.
Atalanta had been hoping to hoping to see Malinovskyi leave for Marseille, with Turkey international Cengiz Under coming the other way. But Under is believed to be dragging his feet and wants to continue in the Champions League with OM, according to RMC.
That has allowed Spurs to accelerate their interest in Ukraine international Malinovskyi. And according to the Bergamo edition of Corriere, via Footmercato, Antonio Conte sees the player as another option to Dejan Kulusevski.
The pair have played together at Atalanta. And the good relations between the two clubs has increased the possibility of a another transfer.
Spurs though have another idea up their sleeve because they want to offer left-back Sergio Reguilon as part of the deal.
Tottenham are said to want around €25m for Reguillon, who looks set to leave the capital this month.
Whether the Spaniard will entertain a move to Italy remains unclear, but Malinovskyi is keen on a move to England, claims Footmercato.
Malinovskyi has not been convinced by a move to the south of France and the Spurs option could tempt him.
WOLVES GET BELOTTI KNOCKBACK
Andrea Belotti has rejected an offer to join Wolves this summer, claims a report.
Calciomercato claims Bruno Lage’s men put a proposal to the 28-year-old Italian striker, but his answer was “no thank you.”
Belotti has seen his contract expire at Torino and he is available on a free transfer.
Roma are chasing the attacker and are trying desperately to register the player. But Jose Mourinho’s men need to make sales to make room for Belotti.
Belotti is willing to wait for the Giallorossi, but the inactivity has seen other parties like Wolves make their offers.
The former Palermo man though is focused on a move to Rome.
