Ten Hag in dreamland with Man Utd to receive astounding offer for star whose race is run

Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag

A European giant are prepared to make an eye-watering January offer for a Manchester United star Erik ten Hag has no intention of using, per reports.

The vast bulk of summer transfer windows across the globe have closed, though a select few still remain open. One is in Turkey where the likes of Galatasaray, Fenerbahce, Besiktas, Trabzonspor and co remain on the hunt for canny late moves.

The Turkish deadline is Friday, September 15 and per ESPN, Man Utd could be involved.

The future of Donny van de Beek appears to lay away from Old Trafford, with the Dutchman experiencing no upturn in fortune since Ten Hag’s arrival.

What’s more, the summer signings of Mason Mount and Sofyan Amrabat have placed further obstacles in Van de Beek’s path to regular action in Manchester.

As such, ESPN claimed Galatasaray and Fenerbahce were considering late-window swoops for the midfielder.

When recently speaking on the 26-year-old’s future, trusted journalist Ben Jacobs stated Van de Beek is not in his manager’s plans.

Jacobs told GiveMeSport: “I think it’s clear that Donny van de Beek is not part of Erik ten Hag’s plans, but time is running out in various windows, so Manchester United are scrambling to try and find a late solution.

“The club’s preference would be to offload van de Beek, but it hasn’t been routine. The main interest has come from Turkey and there have been some enquiries from Saudi Arabia, but it’s a race against the clock.”

The Saudi window has since closed, leaving just the Turkish route open to Van de Beek if he’s to leave Man Utd this summer.

Reports claimed United were hoping to generate a fee in the region of £12m-£15m for the Dutchman. However, with time running out it had been suggested United would lower their demands and accept a loan as long as it contained an obligation to buy.

However, according to a remarkable new report out of Spain, Man Utd will get their wish if they’re prepared to bide their time until January.

Inter Milan want Van de Beek in January

As cited by Goal, it’s claimed Serie A giant Inter Milan are not only prepared to bid for Van de Beek in January, but are actually ready to pay above the odds to make the move happen.

The report states Van de Beek has an admirer in Inter boss Simone Inzaghi and the Champions League runners-up ‘would be willing to pay around 20 million euros’.

That equates to roughly £17m at current exchange rate and if an offer of that size were lodged, it would surely be accepted by Man Utd.

Of course, £17m would still represent a sizeable loss on the initial £35m Man Utd paid Ajax back in 2020.

However, given it now appears clear Van de Beek’s time in England is up, recouping £17m for a player who has made zero impact over the last three years would represent a superb piece of business for the Red Devils.
