Bruno Lage could be robbed of his chance with exciting Wolves attacker as Euro giant lurks

Wilfried Zaha and Pedro Neto

Bruno Lage could be robbed of his chance with an exciting Wolves attacker as a European giant have reportedly listed him as a target.

Since his arrival last summer Lage has carried out an impressive job at Molineux. He has taken to the Premier League like a duck to water, but he did inherit a talented squad from Nuno Espirito Santo.

With the club constantly pushing to break into the top six, their stars naturally have fallen onto those clubs’ radars.

Ruben Neves has been most heavily linked with a move away. Manchester United are said to like the look of the midfielder.

And Adama Traore could be back in Tottenham’s sights this summer following his loan spell at Barcelona.

Now another of their promising young talents has been linked to the exit door.

According to the Daily Mail, PSG are keeping tabs on 22-year-old Pedro Neto.

The forward only just returned from a fractured kneecap suffered in April 2021 last month.

Before that injury he was showing real promise for Wolves and registered five goals and six assists last season.

PSG have clearly noted that as they have put him on their shortlist alongside Leeds United’s Raphinha and Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele.

Since his comeback as a substitute in the 2-1 win over Leicester, Neto has been given just one start.

Lage will no doubt be hoping to utilise him next season, but may lose that prospect if the French side strike with a tempting offer.

Wolves have Neto tied down

Neto extended his contract earlier this month which means he is tied down until 2027.

“I’m very happy because it’s felt like home here and I want to continue here,” he said afterwards via the Wolves website.

“I want to work a lot to conquer things with this club. Because we have the potential to do this kind of stuff.”

Wolves’ technical director Scott Sellars was also pleased with Neto committing his future to the club.

He added: “It’s a deserved reward for him. He’s returned from injury and put in a lot of hard work to get back. So it’s good for all parties.

“It’s a no-brainer for the club to retain its talent. And hopefully it was a no-brainer for Pedro to stay longer.”
