Man Utd want Real Madrid superstar to coax best from Maguire

Sergio Ramos’ time at Real Madrid could be coming to an end after talks between the parties hit an impasse, with Manchester United an interested observer, claims a report.

The veteran defender’s contract with Real Madrid ends in June, and he can talk to interested parties from abroad this month.

Don Balon claim that “the latest information that arrives is not good at all”.

Real supremo Florentino Perez is insistent that he will not raise the latest offer presented to the Spain man. And Ramos has apparently  made it very clear that he will not sign anything until they give him what he wants.

A report in Diario AS claims that Ramos is very much at a crossroads. The Covid-19 pandemic has hit Real hard financially.

The chief problem seems to surround the 10% reduction in salary that Los Blancos want to impose. That is something Ramos is very unhappy with.

Ramos currently earns €12m net per season at Madrid. A 10% cut would reduce his salary by €1.2m. And if the deal is a two-year agreement that means he would miss out on almost €3m.

El Chiringuito claim that Liverpool have registered serious interest in Ramos.

United though are also keen, as per the source.

The Spanish outlet say that offers have been ‘raining down’ on Ramos. Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City and Mauricio Pochettino’s Paris Saint-Germain have both been mentioned and now United are “seeking a luxury companion for Harry Maguire”.

Ramos desire

Sergio Ramos TEAMtalk

United want 34-year-old Ramos to help get the best from Maguire, the world’s most expensive defender.

Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly have been the players partnering the England defender this term, but United could turn to Ramos to help Maguire into the world-class bracket.

Of course these matters at the Bernabeu have a tendency to end up with new contracts for the protagonists. It will not be the first time that interest from England has led to shiny new contracts for players in Spain.

The former Sevilla defender has always said he wants to retire with Los Blancos. But he believes he deserves greater respect and recognition after 16 years at the club.
