Huge hint Ten Hag will sign £52m striker as Man Utd star ‘can see’ him heading to Old Trafford

A senior Manchester United player has suggested the club will sign one of their striker targets after admitting he ‘can see’ the exciting attacker moving to Old Trafford.

Man Utd have been linked with a host of strikers in recent months, including Harry Kane, Victor Osimhen, Randal Kolo Muani, Goncalo Ramos and Rasmus Hojlund. However, they have recently decided against moving for either Kane or Osimhen.

Man Utd are worried about being forced into overpaying for Kane by Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy. And the England captain is now set to stay at Tottenham after Real Madrid cooled their interest in him as well.

Man Utd will not be going in for Osimhen either as Napoli’s £150million asking price has done its job in putting them off.

That leaves Kolo Muani, Hojlund and Ramos as potential signings for the Red Devils. Kolo Muani may be tough to sign as he is also wanted by Bayern and Madrid, which means it is likely Erik ten Hag will have to settle for either Hojlund or Ramos. A Premier League option has also just appeared on Ten Hag’s radar in a shock twist.

Hojlund has publicly admitted his love for Man Utd, which has put them on red alert. As per a recent report from The Athletic, he is eager to sign for them if given the opportunity.

And reports emerging from Italy claim Man Utd are on the verge of bidding £52m for Hojlund. Atalanta ideally want to receive £63m for the Dane but could be talked down slightly.

Manchester Evening News have explained how Christian Eriksen could prove to be a secret weapon for Man Utd due to him playing for the Denmark national team with Hojlund.

Christian Eriksen suggests Man Utd will land compatriot

And Eriksen has now made an eye-catching admission about his compatriot. Following Denmark’s 1-0 win over Northern Ireland on Friday night, during which both Hojlund and Eriksen featured, the playmaker told Ekstra Bladet (via Metro): “I can see him at Manchester United, but I haven’t recommended him to Erik ten Hag.

“He is a fantastic guy and a good player and has really developed brilliantly at Atalanta.

“What the club ends up doing, I will not be able to answer.”

Eriksen also sent Hojlund a warning about the massive expectations at Man Utd.

“It’s a club where there’s a huge amount of attention because everyone has an attitude towards Manchester United,” he added.

“I had tried a lot when I came to the club. So I knew a little bit about what size the club was.”

It is very interesting that Eriksen has admitted he ‘can see’ Hojlund heading to Man Utd. While the midfielder wanted to stress he has not recommended the player to Ten Hag, it sounds like Man Utd are definitely considering him as their next striker.

Man Utd fans will clearly be disappointed that they have not managed to bring in a more experienced attacker such as Kane or Osimhen. However, Hojlund would still be an exciting capture.

At 20 years of age he has bagged 16 goals in 42 matches across all competitions this term, for both Atalanta and Austrian side Sturm Graz.

He has all the attributes necessary to become a big hit in the Prem, so if Man Utd do sign him, they would just need to give him time and allow him to develop.

Meanwhile, a Man Utd player has been urged to ditch the club and sign for English rivals Tottenham.
