Euro Paper Talk: Casemiro urges Man Utd to smash transfer record with astonishing capture of Real Madrid ace; Bayern to sell £120m pair to fund Tottenham raid

Casemiro and Erik ten Hag of Man Utd

Manchester United are preparing to shatter their transfer record after Casemiro told them to bring in a top-class Real Madrid player, Bayern Munich will sell two stars worth a combined £120million in order to fund a swoop on Tottenham, while Wednesday’s Euro Paper Talk claims an Everton transfer is close to completion.

MAN UTD EYE REAL MADRID MIDFIELDER

Man Utd have begun targeting Real Madrid star Eduardo Camavinga after Casemiro told them to get on the hunt for him, according to a sensational report.

Casemiro was on Real’s books between 2013 and 2022, either side of a short spell at Porto. He made 336 appearances for the Spanish giants, helping them to win the Champions League an incredible five times, as well as other illustrious silverware such as La Liga and the Copa del Rey.

The midfielder raised eyebrows when deciding to leave Real and join Man Utd in August 2022. And he has gone on to become one of the most important players for manager Erik ten Hag.

Before Casemiro left Spain, he spent one season playing alongside exciting young midfielder Camavinga, following his 2021 transfer from Rennes.

And the pair could now reunite at Old Trafford. According to Man Utd website The People’s Person, which cites reports emerging from Spain, the Red Devils have made Camavinga one of their main transfer targets for the summer.

Ten Hag is searching for a high-quality midfielder to play alongside Casemiro next season. And with Arsenal leading the race for West Ham’s Declan Rice, the boss has moved onto Camavinga.

Casemiro seems to have played a big role in the transfer pursuit. The report claims he has told Man Utd chiefs to sign Camavinga as he rates the Angola-born France international very highly.

The 20-year-old has forced his way into Carlo Ancelotti’s starting eleven, despite fierce competition for midfield places coming from the likes of Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Fede Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni.

Camavinga has made 39 appearances across all competitions so far this season, while also playing a full 90 minutes in six out of Real’s last eight league outings. And his top performances have resulted in Man Utd plotting a big-money offer.

Red Devils could make Camavinga their most expensive player

The report claims Man Utd are willing to put an astonishing €130m (£115m) on the table for Camavinga. A deal at this price would obliterate their current transfer record, which is the £89m they spent on Paul Pogba in 2016.

Real paid Rennes €40m (£34.4m) to snare Camavinga almost two years ago. So they would be making a huge profit if they sold him to Ten Hag’s side for £115m.

Despite the financial rewards on offer, it is unlikely Real will sell the wonderkid to Man Utd. Real coaches rate him incredibly highly and believe he will play a huge role for the club in the future, especially when Modric and Kroos retire.

It would make little sense if Los Blancos let Camavinga go just when he is starting to make a real impact at the Bernabeu.

Man Utd, of course, will hope to change Real’s minds by putting huge money to them. But it would take some serious convincing to get this move off the ground.
