Arsenal urged to ‘break the bank’ after Declan Rice deal by signing world-class Man Utd, Liverpool striker target

Arsenal have been told to continue their insane summer transfer outlay by signing a brilliant striker ahead of Manchester United and Liverpool.

Arsenal announced Kai Havertz as their first new arrival of the summer on Wednesday. The German has joined the Gunners from London rivals Chelsea for £65million and has penned a five-year contract.

He could soon be followed to the Emirates by England midfielder Declan Rice. Arsenal have agreed a £105m deal with West Ham for Rice after having two previous bids rejected. They have also successfully fought off Manchester City, as Pep Guardiola’s side do not want to match the £105m fee.

Arsenal are determined to win next season’s Premier League crown ahead of City and will therefore not stop with just Havertz and Rice. As per The Guardian, they are making progress in their pursuits of Ajax centre-back Jurrien Timber and Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia. Those deals could take Arsenal’s summer spending beyond the £250m mark.

Surprisingly, Arsenal now been urged to replace impressive centre-forward Gabriel Jesus by landing Napoli hitman Victor Osimhen.

Man Utd have been heavily linked with Osimhen after he bagged 31 goals in 39 appearances last season, helping Napoli win the Serie A title and reach the Champions League quarter-finals.

On June 5, Man Utd decided to drop their interest in the Nigerian after finding out he would cost a whopping £150m. But Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has since revealed he will listen to reasonable offers for his star man, putting Man Utd back on alert.

Earlier this week, Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport claimed Liverpool had joined Man Utd in the race for Osimhen.

Arsenal told to sign world-renowned goalscorer

But Piers Morgan, who regularly tweets about his beloved Arsenal, has urged Mikel Arteta’s side to stun Man Utd and Liverpool by signing Osimhen first.

Reacting to news that Arsenal are poised to sign Rice, he wrote on Twitter: ‘It’s brilliant that Arsenal seem to have won the race to sign Declan Rice, who will be a monstrously good addition to the team.

‘But if we want to win big trophies, we also need a world-class striker who will score 25-plus goals a season. I’d break the bank for Victor Osimhen.’

Arsenal have not really been mentioned in the conversation for the Serie A star so far due to them already having Jesus and also capturing Havertz. Over the coming weeks it will be interesting to see if any reports name them as being suitors for Osimhen as well.

Osimhen has previously admitted he ‘dreams’ of playing in the Premier League after growing up watching it. His biggest idol is former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba, although that would not stop him moving to one of their English rivals.

Osimhen would clearly be a fantastic signing for Arsenal. At Napoli he has emerged into one of the best strikers on the planet and his incredible form would surely continue if he became part of Arteta’s squad. However, it is hard to see Arsenal being able to sign him for £100m – or more – without breaking Financial Fair Play rules this summer.

Meanwhile, a journalist has revealed Havertz’s dream destination as he did not actually have Arsenal up there as his favoured next club.
